The region of Azerbaijan and Armenia have accused each other of violating a humanitarian ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh, disputed region.

Both Azerbaijan and Armenia  had agreed on a truce to start at 20:00 GMT Saturday, which is the midnight local time

But according to an Armenian defense ministry spokeswoman, “Azerbaijan broke the ceasefire after just four minutes by firing artillery rockets and shells.

They both later said that they have had broken the truce after two minutes.

Both Azerbaijan and Armenia had signed a Russian-brokered ceasefire last Saturday. However, clashes continued despite that accord.

Fighting flared last month over the territory, which is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan but run by ethnic Armenians.

However, hundreds have died.

This is the worst violence in the Azerbaijan and Armenia region since a 6-year war over the territories ended with a ceasefire in the year 1994.
