APC Chieftain Writes Court,Demands A Stop to NEC Meeting

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kalu Kalu, has asked a federal high court in Abuja to stop the national executive committee (NEC) meeting of the party scheduled to hold on December 8.

In a motion on notice filed on Thursday, Kalu through his lawyer, Ukpai Ukairo, had asked the court to stop the meeting pending the final resolution of the legal battle on the legality of the dissolution of the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC).

He also sought an order voiding and setting aside the notice of the NEC meeting issued by the secretary of the caretaker committee in charge of the party Akpan Udoedehe, on the grounds that he has no power to do so.
