The Federal Government of Nigeria have extended the deadline for National Identification Number (NIN) update on Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card.
The Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy In a statement on Monday, extended the deadline by three weeks, from 30th December.
Recall that the National Communications Commission NCC ordered telecommunications companies to suspend all sim cards that are not linked to NIN within Two week,
But many Nigerians and the National assembly expressed concern over the sudden directive, asking that the deadline be extended.
The statement titled, ‘Extension of Registration Period and Cancellation of USSD and Verification Fees’, was jointly signed by the Executive Vice-Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission, Umar Danbatta; and Director-General, National Identity Management Commission, Aliyu Aziz.
