Gov. Fayemi Replies Uboh, Demands N5 Billion Naira Upfront after his Attempted 10% Demand Fails

Recall that Dr. George Uboh accused Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) of demanding 10% from the four Paris Club judgment creditors-George Uboh included-asking Fayemi to stop his Pontification and Demagoguery.

Governor Fayemi has responded via a letter captioned “Pre-Action Notice..”, threatening to sue Uboh unless Uboh retracts his publication and apologize within 7 days. In the letter, Fayemi demanded N5 Billion Naira upfront from Uboh. Our legal advisers advised that such demand of money upfront before you file a suit is not grounded in law or common sense hence Uboh has construed the demand as a “shake down” or “extortion”, positing that because Fayemi failed in his attempt to demand 10% from the judgment creditors, he has resorted to another frivolous attempt to extort from him.
