On Sunday, a Nigerian addressed as Salaudeen Lawal, an automobile mechanic, stabbed to death by a notorious cultist terrorizing Igbesa part of Ogun State.
Reports that the suspected cultist is currently at large.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST this afternoon.
Reporters gathered that the deceased was invited by a car owner to help him repair his vehicle, which developed a fault at the Igbesa road, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of Ogun State.
But unfortunately for him and on the course of his duty, the said cultist group, identified as Bobo, accused him of blocking the road.
According to Oyeyemi, an eye witness, “the said Bobo broke a bottle and stabbed the deceased on his hand and cut one of the veins.”
“Distress call was made to the police at Igbesa divisional headquarters, and the DPO SP Abayomi Adeniji quickly led his men to the scene and rescued the victim to the hospital where he gave up the ghost while receiving treatment,” it was said.
And the suspect fled the scene of the incident immediately, after realizing what he did, our correspondent learned.
The police officers got informed that one of his accomplices had been arrested, saying the arrested person helped the police officers in their investigations.
The culprit, however, has been declared wanted by Edward Ajogun, the police as the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, launched a search for him.
Edward Ajogun also urged residents of the Igbesa community to remain, assuring them that the suspected cult group would be arrested and brought to book.
