On Monday August 11, 2025 the EFCC detained former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal for alleged 189b naira fraud. However, on January 23, 2024, George Uboh Whistleblowers Network (GUWN) got court order in form of ex parte writ of mandamus mandating the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to investigate same Tambuwal for same amount of 189b naira.
